Meet Harry – From Rough Start to Brighter Future

Harry first arrived at the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home,  Just five months old, and had already faced more hardship than most animals see in a lifetime. He and his siblings had been abandoned in Bristol, their story a stark reminder of the rising crisis of pet abandonment in our communities.
Harry’s journey began when his brother, affectionately named “Potter,” was found offered as a ‘free puppy’ at a local pub. 
Days later, a heart-breaking discovery was made: Harry and the remaining pups were found tied together with rope along the Lawrence Hill cycle path in Bristol. 
Cold, underweight, and in poor condition, the puppies were rushed to a rescue centre by a kind passerby. There, it was quickly realised they were all from the same litter, victims of an all-too-common situation of abandonment.
Thankfully, Harry’s story didn’t end there.
We at the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home welcomed him into our care, determined to give him the second chance he so deserves.
Since arriving, Harry has been receiving the love, veterinary care, and gentle approach he needed. Slowly but surely, he is beginning to rediscover the joys of puppyhood, playing with toys, enjoying nutritious meals, and soaking up cuddles from our dedicated team.
Harry’s story is just one of many. Every day, animals like Harry arrive at CDCH in need of help.
