Meet Stella: Our Loving Lurcher X, Looking For Her Forever Home

At CDCH, we believe every pet deserves a second chance, no matter how long it takes.

For Stella, our sweet and spirited girl, the wait has been longer than most, 73 weeks, to be exact.

Stella's Story

She arrived in our care through our Safe Space Scheme, a fostering service for pets of individuals fleeing domestic abuse.
This unique initiative provides a lifeline to both people and their beloved pets, ensuring that no one has to make the heart-breaking decision to leave a furry family member behind in a time of crisis.

Stella’s journey with us began when she entered our care as part of this scheme. But sadly, through no fault of her own, she couldn’t be reunited with her previous family.

Despite her challenging past, Stella has blossomed into an incredible dog with so much love to give.
We’re on a mission to find her the perfect home. – A quiet, loving space where she can truly thrive.

Sadly, Stella’s previous experiences with humans hasn’t always been positive, which means initial introductions have to be gentle and understanding, however, his hasn’t stopped her in forming loving and trusting relationships during her time at the centre.

Stella is the perfect mix of energy and love, she’ll keep you on your toes with her playful spirit and amaze you with how quickly she learns new tricks.

But at the end of the day, she’s a total cuddle bug who just wants to snuggle up on the sofa with her favourite people. She’s truly one of a kind!

Stella’s Personality and Needs

Stella is a remarkable dog with an endearing personality that shines in so many ways:
  • A Little Shy at First: She can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, especially men. With patience and understanding, she warms up quickly and shows her playful, loving side.
  • Playtime is Key: Stella builds friendships through play, it’s her favourite way to bond! She loves chasing after toys and showing off her impressive athleticism. Think of her as an “Olympic athlete” in dog form.
  • Active and Clever: Stella thrives on physical and mental stimulation. Whether it’s a fun training session or a long walk, she’s happiest when she’s engaged and active.
  • A Homebody at Heart: After her walks, Stella loves nothing more than curling up for a well-deserved nap. She’s a champion at relaxing after an adventure!
  • Best Fit for Her Forever Home: Stella needs a quiet home without children or other pets. She’s comfortable around well-mannered dogs on walks, but she’s happiest as the only pet in the house. A home with few visitors would suit her best.

Stella and Her Muzzle:

Stella wears a muzzle during her walks in public. A simple tool to help her feel safe and secure in busy environments.

While muzzles often carry an unfair stigma, they’re simply a way to support Stella’s needs and ensure she can enjoy her time outdoors without worry. In fact, Stella doesn’t mind her muzzle at all, it’s just another part of her routine.

We hope to challenge the taboo around muzzles and show how they can be a positive and responsible choice for dogs like Stella.

Why Stella Needs You:

Stella has been waiting far too long for someone to see the amazing dog that we see every day.

She’s full of love, energy, and a potential new best friend. She deserves a home who will cherish her for who she is.

With a little patience, understanding, and plenty of playtime, Stella will become the most loyal and loving companion you could ever ask for.

If you think you could be the one to give Stella her happily-ever-after, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s help this incredible dog find the forever home she’s been waiting for.
