We are overjoyed and deeply honoured, to share that the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home has been named Animal Charity Team of the Year at the 2025 Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards!
This incredible recognition means the world to us.
The nomination alone was humbling, highlighting the tireless work of our dedicated team and the immense compassion they bring to even the most heart-wrenching cases.
The staff at the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home deserve recognition for their exceptional dedication to handling challenging and emotionally demanding cases.
Their work requires not only skill but also immense emotional resilience, especially in situations where the outcome is uncertain or heart breaking.
Over the past year, we’ve supported many animals through cruelty, neglect, and concern-for-welfare cases.
That includes animals from RSPCA investigations and from other urgent situations. Each one has had their own journey, and our team has been there every step of the way. Often through long, difficult, emotional recoveries.
One case that touched all our hearts was Comet, a dog found abandoned, tied to a lamppost, with stab wounds. His physical injuries were severe, but the emotional trauma was just as deep.
With patience, love, and expert care, our team helped Comet begin to heal, physically and emotionally. It’s cases like his that remind us why we do what we do, and why this recognition is so meaningful.
Not every story has a perfect ending, and that’s one of the hardest parts of the work we do. But through the heartbreak, we never stop showing up.
Every animal we care for is met with kindness, respect, and love. No matter their past, and no matter their future.
I’d like to congratulate all of the worthy finalists and winners who celebrated with us at this year’s Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards. The awards recognise the hard work and dedication of the volunteers, employees and teams who play such a vital role in improving the welfare of vulnerable animals.
Petplan works in partnership with animal charities across the UK and sees first hand on a daily basis the incredible work that is done, so all of the 9000 nominees should feel very proud of this achievement.
We’re also incredibly grateful to share that, alongside this honour, we’ve been awarded a £3,000 Petplan grant to support complex and emergency veterinary treatment.
This vital funding will be used to cover diagnostics, surgery, and intensive care for animals in urgent need particularly those recovering from cruelty and neglect. With the support of our specialist veterinary partners, Vale Vets, we’ll ensure that these animals receive the lifesaving care they need to recover, thrive, and ultimately find loving forever homes.
