The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home Celebrates the Grand Opening of It’s Newest Charity Shop in Stroud!

The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newest charity shop.

The new shop will officially open its doors to the public on Friday, 8th November at 10:00 am, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by ITV’s Alex Lovell, a dedicated supporter of animal welfare.

This new location marks the 8th shop for The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, which continues to expand its retail presence to support animals in need across the community.

As someone who cares deeply about animal welfare, I am thrilled to be part of the opening of this wonderful new charity shop in Stroud for The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home.

It’s inspiring to see a space dedicated to supporting animals in need, and I’m honoured to help launch this initiative.

This shop will play such a vital role in raising funds to provide care, safety, and loving homes for animals in our community. I can't wait to see the positive impact it will have and to be a part of something so meaningful.

The shop will offer a range of high-quality, pre-loved items, from clothing and accessories to home goods, furniture and books, with all proceeds  funding the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of vulnerable animals in the region.
Kirstin Maycock, Retail Operations Manager for The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, shared her excitement about the new opening:

We’re so pleased to open our 8th charity shop, which will allow us to make an even greater impact in the community.

Every purchase made here supports the animals in our care, providing them with the resources they need for a second chance at a brighter future.

We’re looking forward to this shop becoming a valued part of Stroud and creating a welcoming space where locals can support animal welfare in a meaningful way.

The need for additional support is more pressing than ever, with a growing number of animals requiring rescuing and care. The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home hopes that the new shop will not only raise vital funds but also raise awareness about the importance of animal welfare.

Duckee - Grey & White Kitten at the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home

A perfect example of this life-saving support is Duckee, who was discovered as a tiny stray kitten, all alone and in need of care. Thanks to the quick actions of his finder he was brought to a vet and then to the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, where he received the gentle attention and support he needed.

Duckee was hand-reared and nurtured back to health, he is now growing into a playful, cheeky young cat with a full belly and  a big heart, ready to bring fun and companionship to a loving family.

Duckee’s story highlights the vital work that donations and charity shop purchases make possible. With each bit of support, we’re able to provide care, shelter, and the chance of a happy future for animals like Duckee, giving them a fresh start in a forever home.

The shop, which is located in Stroud, Unit 1 Butterrow Hill, Bowbridge, Stroud, GL5 2EE, will be open Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm.
Local supporters, animal lovers, and community members are all warmly invited to attend the grand opening, see Alex Lovell, and explore the new space while supporting a great cause.
