Volunteer Week

This Volunteer Week, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible people who give their time, energy, and hearts to support our mission. Whether caring for animals, helping at our charity shops, or organising fundraising events, we couldn’t do it without them.

Meet Some of Our Wonderful Volunteers

Kathy – Our Quizmaster Extraordinaire
Kathy is our dedicated quizmaster who is always keen to help at events often joined by her equally helpful granddaughter!

Amy – Raffle Prize Royalty
Amy is the queen of securing raffle prizes! She works closely with local businesses to source amazing goodies for our supporters to win, a true behind-the-scenes hero.

Jen – Enthusiasm in Action
Jen attends every event with boundless enthusiasm and a beaming smile. She’s a joy to be around and always lifts everyone’s spirits with her positivity.

Trish & Kate – Cake Creators
Our brilliant bakers, Trish and Kate, make sure there are delicious homemade treats at every open day. Their signature lemon drizzle is always a crowd favourite – and it disappears fast!

Martin – Dog Walker & Trustee
Martin wears many hats a dedicated trustee and our chief dog walker. He volunteers weekly and plays a key role in keeping tails wagging and paws happy!

Sian – Reception Star & Volunteer Coordinator
Sian supports our reception team with emails, greetings, and organisation. She also coordinates our wider volunteer team to ensure everything runs smoothly for our staff and animals.

Becky – Our Book Wizard
Becky has been volunteering with us for 6 months and is a master of book organisation. She also keeps morale high by bringing in tasty treats for everyone to share!

Tracey – Shop Superstar
Tracey has been with us for 15 months and volunteers up to 5 days a week! She’s brilliant at sorting jewellery and organising bric-a-brac. When she’s not in the shop, she’s likely on a beach with a cocktail in one hand and a book in the other!

Kirsty – Our Ray of Sunshine
Kirsty has been with us since the shop opened in November and brings joy, laughter, and smiles wherever she goes.
Fun fact: She shares a birthday with Princess Kate!

Rosie – Globetrotter & Book Lover
Rosie has been volunteering with us for 3 years and lovingly looks after the book section.
Fun fact: She’s visited 53 countries and has a dog named Wizzle!

Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do, and we simply couldn’t do it without them.

From those who care for our animals day in and day out, to those working behind the scenes, every single volunteer plays a vital role in our work.

Our incredible team of volunteers give their time, skills, and compassion to help animals in need and support our wider community. Whether they’re walking dogs, comforting cats, repairing fences, assisting in the vet clinic, organising events, or helping to steer our charity’s future, their dedication and generosity are truly inspiring.

We are so proud to have them by our side and endlessly grateful for all that they do.

To each and every one of the volunteers in our team, thank you. Your kindness makes a world of difference. We are thrilled to be able to celebrate all of you throughout the week.

Happy Volunteer Week!
