Celebrate Free Wills Month With The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home!

This October, the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home is excited to celebrate Free Wills Month and offer you an incredible opportunity to secure your future while making a difference for animals in need.

Creating your Will is a crucial step in securing your loved ones’ future and making sure your wishes are honored. It’s also a chance to leave a legacy that can impact the lives of animals at our centre.

While there’s no obligation to leave a gift to the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home to take advantage of our Will writing offer, however, if you were able to help us in this way, we would be very grateful.

After providing for your loved ones, by leaving even just 1% of your estate to the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, you could make a huge difference to vulnerable animals for years to come.

Without people like you supporting us, we wouldn’t be able to continue to help abandoned, mistreated and neglected animals.

How It Works...

We want to make this process as convenient as possible for you.

Take advantage of this opportunity by completing your Free Will online Today! Or if you would prefer over the telephone with a trained counsellor.

Either way, each Will is checked by legal experts and legally binding for your wishes.

Luna’s story is a testament to the incredible transformation love, care, and time can bring..

Luna is a gentle 7-year-old tabby cat with the heart of a fighter. She’s faced more than her fair share of hardship in life, yet continues to greet each day with quiet resilience and warmth.

Luna first came into the care of CDCH several years ago after being found abandoned and in a house where she had been left to starve.

We gave her the love and veterinary care she desperately needed to regain her strength and went on to find a new, loving home where she thrived.

Sadly for reasons beyond anyone’s control, Luna’s circumstances changed once again. Her devoted adopter could no longer care for her, and Luna returned to us, still the gentle soul, brave, and full of life that we remember. We are so grateful for the love and care Luna received whilst not in our care but now back, Luna needed us more than ever.

Luna lives with stage 2 renal disease, which is carefully managed through a special diet, regular blood tests, and monitoring.

Recently, Luna developed a severely painful tooth that urgently needs to be removed this carried higher risks due to her kidney condition and required intensive, costly care.

Luna was given the love, patience, and stability she needed to heal.

After lots of nurturing care, Luna become the joyful, trusting cat we see today, enjoying head rubs, playtime, and lap cuddles.

But, most importantly, Luna is ready to find a home, where she will be loved for the rest of her life.

Luna’s transformation is a powerful reminder of the impact legacy gifts can have.

By including CDCH in your Will, you help us continue rescuing and healing animals in need, giving them a brighter future just like Luna’s.

A: No, there is no obligation. While we hope you consider leaving a gift to support our work, your primary focus should be on ensuring your will reflects your wishes.

At the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, we share your passion for animals. We have been providing care and support to vulnerable animals in our community for over 85 years.

We work tirelessly to support over 1,000 animals each and every year living in our community.  We find wonderful families for pets who need a new home.

CDCH also provides access to veterinary treatment for pets living with financially vulnerable families through our subsidised veterinary clinics, ensuring no animal suffers because of cost.

Although the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home is proud to be part of the independent RSPCA branch network, we would like to emphasise that we are an independently funded branch that depends on the generosity of the community, so each and every gift no matter how large or small has a huge impact and is deeply valued.

A: If you die before making a will, the government will follow the rules of intestacy, a set of guidelines that decides who gets your assets. But these rules are over 100 years old, so do not consider modern family dynamics like unmarried couples, step-children or your personal preference. If you’ve got children under 18, and have not appointed a legal guardian, social services and/or the courts can make decisions about who takes care of them.

A: Writing a will lets you do more than appoint guardians for your children, you can also choose who looks after your pets if something happens to you. Please see our Pet promise here for more information.

Secure your Free Will Today and help us shape a brighter future for the animals we care about.
