Meet Olive, A Brave Puppy in Urgent Need of Help

Olive arrived in excruciating pain after sustaining a severely broken femur. Now she needs emergency surgery to save her leg.

Despite her pain, Olive still seeks love, affection, and cuddles from the team. Behind those gentle eyes is a heart-breaking injury.

Without immediate surgery she faces a life of suffering and potential long-term disability.

Olive has suffered a severely broken femur a painful fracture that requires emergency surgery to save her leg and prevent lifelong complications.

The specialist procedure will involve pinning and plating the bone to stabilise it. Then the road to recovery will be a slow and steady journey, and, as with recovery from any surgery, doesn’t come without some risk of failure.

We don’t know exactly how Olive sustained her injury, but what we do know is that she is one of a growing number of animals arriving at our doors due to the pressures of the cost of living crisis.

Families who love their pets are facing heart-breaking decisions when they cannot afford the rising costs of veterinary care.

Together, we can give this brave little pup the chance at the healthy, happy life she deserves.

Her operation is scheduled for today, and we’re pulling out all the stops to give her the best chance at healing.

Once her surgery is complete, Olive will remain in the veterinary hospital until the end of the week. From there, her road to recovery truly begins.

She’ll need weeks of strict crate rest, followed by physiotherapy and eventually hydrotherapy to help her rebuild strength and mobility in her leg. We’ll be by her side through it all, we’re committed to supporting every step of her recovery.
